Terry Casey

Terry Ray Casey

In Memoriam

June 27, 1942 – May 27, 2017

Most of us say we'd like to die peacefully in our sleep. The drawback to this scenario is that it leaves things unsaid; friends unthanked, family unhugged. Luckily for us, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Terry Ray Casey, was a man who seized the moment. The night before he passed away in his sleep, he bought his wonderful wife Judy a bouquet of flowers and they spent the evening together with friends, laughing and happy. Terry truly practiced living every moment as if it was his last, and let everyone around him know how much he cared about them. Terry was born June 27, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK. When Terry first met his future wife, Judy, she was dating another man but rather than be deterred he befriended Judy's mother, Marion, and worked his way in to Judy's heart through her. Terry and Judy were married in August of 1962 and have four children, Shannon, Kevin, Britney, and Geoffrey. He cherished his grandchildren, Collin, Austin, and Willa and was a devoted grandpa who could always be counted on to fashion a homemade toy gun, take a trip to the zoo or blow dry freshly washed hair. The Casey family lived from the east coast in Philadelphia to the west coast in Seattle and many other states in between. Terry worked in a funeral home during his time in college and had rewarding careers with both Merck Pharmaceuticals and Steak and Ale Restaurants.

Faith was a big part of Terry's life and he was a member of St. Anne's Parish and loved to help organize big events which typically involved lots of cooking. Rescuing Chihuahuas who had fallen on hard times resulted in some lovable if imperfect canine companions, his sweet dog friend, Gizmo, will miss those naps together on the couch. Terry was a dynamic and vital man with a generous spirit and a warm heart.

He loved to help--whether it be renovating his daughter's first home, planning weddings, throwing surprise birthday parties, giving advice on a resume, he loved to be involved in the lives of his family members. He was a source of strength and unconditional love to his friends and family who will miss his presence in their lives and remember him with love. We will all cherish the many fond memories we have of this one of a kind giant of a man. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Frieda and Ray, and his brother, Mike Casey. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Casey; children, Shannon Carefoot and husband, Brent, Kevin Casey, Britney Casey, and Geoffrey Casey and wife, Jennifer, and his three grandchildren.
