First, I want to say that I’ve enjoyed the website tremendously and truly missed the 45th reunion.  Thanks to everyone who has submitted information and thanks to Leon for all the work he does.  Second, I guess it’s my turn to update you on what I’ve been doing the last 45 years . . .

A few years after high school graduation I married and moved to Kansas City, MO. for ten years.  My daughter and son were both born there.  This time of year I often miss the beauty of the city, even though I’ve lived in Norman, OK for 30 years.  Thanksgiving evening was always spent celebrating the “turning on of the Plaza lights” heralding in the Christmas Season.

Before Kansas City I spent some time at OCU and on returning to Norman I spent time at OU both as a student and employee.  I’ve been secretary of University Lutheran Church and Student Center for the last 15 years and tell everyone I have two churches – my “work” church, and the church I attend.  I plan on retiring in a few years and will miss my “work” church terribly.

I had four grandchildren in three years and my favorite time is spent with them both in Norman and in Charleston, S.C.  I agree with the saying, “If I’d known grandchildren were so much fun, I’d had them first!”

I like to read and write, enjoy being with people, movies, the theatre, music, OU football, singing in my church choir, and the excitement of Christmas.  I also love airports.  My current favorites are Memphis, Atlanta, Detroit, and Spartanberg/Greenville.  They each have something unique about them.  I have traveled in England, Scotland, Wales, Germany, France, Belgium, and Holland.  I love the UK and am always ready to see the good ol’ USA.  Several years ago I helped deliver a baby.  It was an awesome experience!  I also spent two weeks living, and doing research in the El Yunca Rainforest of San Juan, Puerto Rico.  I got lost for a few hours, I traversed a stream full of boulders, slid down a muddy path stopping only when I slid into a tree, crossed a swinging bridge, saw a waterfall, and caught shrimp as large as a 5-6 lb. roast.  That’s when my colleague said “we don’t eat our research project.”   Most recently I have been a nun.  For a month of rehearsals and two week-ends of performances I was a nun in the local theatre production of “The Sound of Music.”

What’s next?  Las Vegas in July/August of 2006 where my nephew will be in the World Series of Poker, continued trips to Charleston, and time to enjoy everything even more.
